As reported in previous newsletters, Mercy Partners has been reviewing its Formation model throughout 2025. This review is focused on addressing the Formation needs of the Mercy Partners Board, as well as Ministry Boards and Executives, in line with our canonical statutes and constitutional responsibilities.
Phase One of this process was completed in July, with the finalisation and approval of a new Formation for Mission Policy and Framework for Trustee Directors.
With the successful completion of Phase One, and the conclusion of Julia Trimboli’s contracted engagement as Formation Consultant, her time with Mercy Partners has come to an end. We extend our sincere gratitude to Julia for her valuable contributions to the project.
Phases Two and Three will include:
- Continuing implementation of the 2025 Transition Plan and establishing a roadmap for future years that aligns with Mercy Partners strategic priorities.
- Facilitating the rollout of the Mercy Partners Trustee Directors Formation Plan
- Supporting Ministry Boards in the development of their own Formation policies, frameworks, and plans
- Implementing an accountability and reporting structure to track Formation activities across the Mercy Partners Board and Ministry Boards
Recruitment is currently underway for a Formation Director who will strategically lead and operationalise these next phases. This role will work closely with the Formation Committee, Mercy Partners Board, and Ministry Boards to ensure a mission-aligned approach to Formation.
