John Leahy was appointed CEO of Mercy Partners in October 2019. Mr Leahy was previously engaged as Project Manager, One Mater and played an integral part in the development of the One Mater Project plan. Prior to this Mr Leahy had completed some eighteen years working in the Catholic Health and Aged care sectors in Queensland, New South Wales and Victoria. His roles have included Director Finance and Administration, Regional Chief Executive Officer Queensland and Chief Executive Officer Aged Care Services. Preceding this, he was with Mayne Health Group in a financial management role. Mr Leahy has completed studies in finance and commerce in the United Kingdom and has undertaken additional studies in business management and organisational behaviour. He is an Associate Member Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA), and a Member of Brisbane Catholic Education Council.

Kate Garrone was appointed Director of Formation at Mercy Partners in January 2026.  Over the last 30 years Kate has worked as an educator, psychologist, faith formator and community development worker with people in educational, religious and community settings.  She leads strategic initiatives that embed Charism and faith-based perspectives into schools’/organisations’ culture, formation programs and leadership development.  She has led Faith and Mission in Mercy, Augustinian and Edmund Rice Schools.  She is both a teacher and psychologist who is passionate about developing people potential, change facilitation and strengthening faith-based communities so that they can develop a preferred future that is aligned with their vision and priorities.
