Vision Statement
Established in 1861, All Hallows’ was the first girls’ school in Queensland and is the oldest secondary school in the State. All Hallows’ School is grounded in the Catholic traditions and values of the Sisters of Mercy, with Catherine McAuley as their founder. Catherine’s vision lives on today, as the School continues to serve the community through educating young women in a faith–based, Mercy tradition.
At All Hallows’ School we extend and challenge each learner. Our students experience and respond to an academically rigorous and intellectually challenging curriculum. We educate our students to be critical thinkers, global citizens and women of mercy ready to challenge injustice. The House based pastoral care system promotes wellbeing by ensuring that every girl is individually known, supported and nurtured.
A vibrant community provides many opportunities for parents to engage. During a time of rapid global social change, All Hallows’ encourages compassion and empathy for others, an awareness that extends beyond their immediate community and empowers young women to define the role they will play in making a difference. As well as the School’s social justice program, an extensive and diverse range of cultural and sporting co-curricular activities beyond the classroom are designed to build confidence, foster engagement and develop strong peer relationships.
Our dynamic and holistic learning culture prepares our young women to embrace their future with confidence and self-knowledge to live Gospel values.
All Hallows’ School was entrusted to the care of Mercy Partners by the Brisbane Congregation of the Sisters of Mercy on 23 April 2013.
