2023 Connected Newsletter, Spring in Review: Welcome and Thank You

 

Since our last newsletter, Mercy Partners has welcomed two new Steward Representatives, Sr Loreto Conroy rsm from the Sisters of Mercy North Sydney (SOMNS) and Sr Karon Donnellan rsm, from the Institute of Sisters of Mercy of Australia and Papua New Guinea (ISMAPNG). 

Sr Loreto has become a Steward Representative after the Sisters of Mercy North Sydney transitioned Monte Sant’ Angelo Mercy College to Mercy Partners on 7 November 2023. 

Sr Karon is the new Congregation Leader of ISMAPNG and replaces Sr Eveline Crotty rsm as the new ISMAPNG Steward Representative of Mercy Partners, effective from 17 November 2023.  We thank Sr Eveline for her guidance and direction during her time as a Steward Representative of Mercy Partners. 

Mercy Partners is delighted to welcome the following new Ministry Board Directors: 

  • St Ursula’s College – Gloria Malone 
  • Mater Misericordiae – Steven Rubic 
  • St Rita’s College – Louise Burke, Julie Tealby and Michael Senior  

 Thank you must go to the following ministry Board Directors who have recently completed their Board tenures – their dedication, commitment and service is greatly appreciated. 

  • Mount Alvernia College – Kirsty Smith 
  • Mercy Community – Peter Forday 
  • Mater Group – Jenny Parker 

 Mercy Partners also acknowledges, thanks and welcomes the following ministry executive team leaders. 

  • Fritha Raydk has resigned as the CEO of Mercy Community.   
  • Justin Lorenz has been appointed as the new CEO of Mercy Community. 
  • Dale Morrow, Principal of St Rita’s College is retiring after 15 years’ service. 

  On 27 October 2023, it was World Teachers’ Day – a day to celebrate Australia’s teachers for their skilled work in educating, inspiring and supporting students.  Mercy Partners thanks all the dedicated teachers working within all of our ministries – “hats off” to you all for the great job that you do! 

Congratulations to Matthew Esterman, Director of Innovation and Partnerships at Our Lady of Mercy College Parramatta who has been awarded the prestigious Teaching Fellowship as part of the Commonwealth Bank Teaching Awards. 

Congratulations to Amanda Bopf, Head of Faculty – Humanities and Commerce at Mount Alvernia College and Dale Morrow, Principal at St Rita’s College who have both been awarded the Outstanding Contribution to Teaching as part of the 2023 Queensland College of Teachers TEACHX Awards.  Congratulations to Amanda and Dale.
