All Hallows’ Mercy Action Commissioning Liturgy
21 February | Brisbane, QLD
The students, staff, families and volunteers of All Hallows’ School came together in the school’s Chapel to commission their 2024 Mercy Action Program. The school theme, Listen with Curiosity, Speak with Courage, Act with Integrity, lends itself perfectly to the works of Mercy that form part of the program.
In the liturgy, the students were reminded about Catherine McAuley’s theology of action. Catherine McAuley believed religious piety was best expressed through action and she urged others — both her Sisters and her lay neighbours — to embody the humility and kindness she saw in Christ. Catherine also believed that people listen more carefully to those they esteem highly, so by acting out her religious convictions, she believed she might more successfully draw others to her.
The All Hallows’ School value of integrity means that the students must follow their principles and live their lives according to their beliefs. The Mercy Action program offers many opportunities to listen, speak and act, and in 2024 will be offering the students 20 activities throughout the year to demonstrate Mercy in Action.

All Hallows’ Pathways of Possibility
2 February | Brisbane, QLD
All Hallows’ School is proud to announce their 2024 whole school project – “Pathways of Possibility” – a transformative project that will make a tangible and lasting difference in the lives of individuals seeking asylum.
‘Pathways of Possibility’ (POP) is a fundraising campaign supporting The Romero Centre, a Mercy Partners ministry that helps migrant and refugee families in Australia. POP’s goal is to raise funds for The Romero Centre’s Gateways to Employment Program, which empowers individuals seeking asylum to overcome challenges in finding work and building a new life.
Inspired by the mission of Oscar Romero and Catherine McAuley, the school’s goal is to help 17 individuals become job-ready and secure financial stability.
Congratulations on a fabulous initiative helping those in need!
