All Hallows’ Blessing of McAuley Hall

The All Hallows’ School community gathered on 20 March 2024 for the Blessing of McAuley Hall which recently underwent a refurbishment. The gathering commences with a liturgy in the Chapel and then was followed by the blessing of the McAuley Hall. McAuley Hall was originally opened in 1958 as a training college for the Sisters of Mercy. The building is named in honour of Catherine McAuley.
Mercy Partners Board Director, Prof Lee Anne Perry, was delighted to attend the gathering with the staff and students to celebrate the Blessing of McAuley Hall.

Wisdom Circle on the Challenge of Seeing Clearly

Mercy Partners Board Directors had the opportunity to connect with the wider Church by participating in a Wisdom Circle on the Challenge of Seeing Clearly organised by the Association of Ministerial PJPs (AMPJP) presented by Chris Jacobs-Vandegeer. The Wisdom Circle provided the Board Directors with the opportunity to join in the conversation on understanding the human person. Chris spoke about what it means to truly see someone and how can we grow in self-understanding. Drawing on themes in the works of Dietrich Bonhoeffer, this Wisdom Circle explored themes of self-understanding, love of neighbour, and how the values of our ministries interface with the shifting tides of our broader culture.
Celebrating St Patrick’s Day Mass

St Patrick’s College community including their College Board, local Sisters of Mercy, Mater Townsville, Mercy Community Services, Ignatius Park College, College Alumni, staff and students all gathered together to honour Saint Patrick, the fifth-century Bishop and Patron Saint of Ireland, whose life has inspired countless saints within the Church. St Patrick’s College Townsville community take pride in their Irish heritage, which stems from the courageous vision of the Sisters of Mercy and Sr Catherine McAuley, who, over 190 years ago, dared to imagine a brighter future for young women. The Mass was lead by Fr Gideon.
Mercy Partners Board Director, Cath Parker, was delighted to visit Townsville to connect with the College and the local community to honour Saint Patrick.




Mount Alvernia College empowering young women

Mount Alvernia College hosted an International Women’s Day High Tea where guest speakers Ashleigh Streeter-Jones, founder of Raise Our Voice Australia, and Phoebe Saintilan-Stocks, founder of Missing Perspectives were the guest speakers. The Mercy Partners Chair, Dr Ricki Jeffery and Board Director, Prof Lee Anne Perry, were inspired by the guest speakers to empower young women in civic engagement, politics and policy, and how they have utilised literacy to champion and share marginalised stories.




Mercy Partners Rockhampton Catch Up
6 March, Rockhampton
Representatives from the Board of Mercy Partners, Ricki Jeffery, Les Jones and Cath Parker, and the Director of Formation, Caroline Thompson were delighted to visit Rockhampton to catch up with the Bishop of Rockhampton, Most Rev Michael McCarthy, representatives from the local ministries along with some of the local Sisters of Mercy.
The dinner was a perfect opportunity for the Mercy Partners Board Directors to connect and engage with the guests and update everyone on all things Mercy Partners.
