
All Hallows’ School Principal and Board Dinner

Mercy Partners Deputy Board Chair Kieran McCarthy had the pleasure of attending the All Hallows’ Principal and Board Dinner on 31 October.
The dinner provided an opportunity for Kieran to connect and give thanks to Catherine O’Kane and the All Hallows’ Board Directors for their commitment and dedicated service to All Hallow and for inspiring young women to a life of faith, compassion, learning and leadership in the spirit of Mercy.

Mercy Alliance Formation Session

Representatives from the Mercy Partners Board recently participated in a Mercy Alliance online formation session. The 90-minute session was led by Sheila Curran rsm, a Sister of Mercy from Ireland and visiting Australia.
Sr Sheila spoke on the topic, As a Mercy Alliance, how do we and how might we work locally, regionally, and globally to meet the challenges of Mercy today.

Assembly of Catholic Professionals
23 October, Brisbane
Members of the Mercy Partners Board along with Steward Representatives attended the Assembly of Catholic Professionals luncheon on 23 October. They joined the wider Brisbane Catholic community to listen to the inspiring guest speaker, Samuel Clear. Samual undertook an incredible 15,600km journey on foot around the world to promote unity within Church.

St Patrick’s College Awards Night
16 October, Townsville
On 16 October St Patrick’s came together for their Year 10-12 Awards Evening to celebrate outstanding student achievements in academics, service, and leadership. The evening was filled with wonderful performances from the College choir, music ensembles, and dance troupes, making it truly a night to remember.
Mercy Partners Board Director Cath Parker was delighted to attend the Awards and present the Award for Academic Achievement for Year 10.

St Rita’s College 2024 Annual Thanksgiving Celebration and Presentation of College Awards

Each year the St Rita’s College community gathers to hold their Thanksgiving Celebration and Presentation of their College Awards. Mercy Partners Deputy Chair Kieran McCarthy joined the celebrations and enjoyed the opportunity to reflect on the year and celebrate the hard work and dedication of the St Rita’s community.

St Ursula’s College Year 12 Graduation Celebrations
14 October, Yeppoon
St Ursula’s College came together for their Year 12 Graduation Celebrations on 14 October. The celebrations commenced with Mass at Sacred Heart Church led by Bishop Michael McCarthy and Fr Matthew Moloney. After the Mass, the year 12 students performed the handover of leadership to the current year 11s. The festivities continued back at the College after Mass, with morning tea and then the Graduation and Awards Ceremony for the Year 12s. Mercy Partners Board Director Cheryl Caughley was delighted to attend and connect with the College and be part of the Year 12 Graduation Celebration.

Mount Alvernia College 2024 Celebration of Excellence

On 14 October the Mount Alvernia College community gathered as a proud Franciscan community on honour the remarkable achievements of over 150 students in academics, community, culture, sports, and house activities for the 2024 Celebration of Excellence.
Mercy Partners Board Director, Cath Parker, attend the celebration and was inspired by the students’ dedication and pursuit of excellence throughout 2024.

2024 Mater People Awards

On Friday, 4 October Mercy Partners Board Director, Les Jones, had the privilege of attending the 2024 Mater People Awards to celebrate all the wonderful staff at the Mater. The Awards are held annually and are an opportunity for the Mater to showcase and recognise those who have gone above and beyond in support of the Mater Mission.

All Hallows’ School – Celebration of Excellence 2024

Each year the All Hallow’s School community comes together for the annual Celebration of Excellence evening, honouring remarkable achievements in academics, culture, sports and Mercy Action.
Mercy Partners Deputy Chair, Kieran McCarthy, was delighted to attend the evening and celebrate the wonderful achievements of the students.

Mercy Community Mercy Day Celebrations
1 October, Brisbane
Every year Mercy Community celebrate Mercy Day, a chance for all their staff, the people they support and the local community to come together and recognise the achievements and service of all Mercy Community Team members, right across the state.
Mercy Community broke with tradition and expanded their typical 24 September Mercy Day celebrations over the entire month of September. The celebrations rounded out the month with celebrations on 1 October. Mercy Partners Board Director, Cheryl Caughley joined Mercy Community’s aged care residents and local community members for Eucharist and morning tea to honour the connection of the mission and the legacy of Catherine McAuley and the Sisters of Mercy.
