As part of Mercy Partners’ year of review and renewal to better support its ministries, the Board has decided to re-engineer the responsibilities of Board Liaison role. The Board Liaison role was last reviewed in 2022 and is the representative of the Board of Mercy Partners to support the Board to achieve its canonical and civil responsibilities with regard to its ministries.
Each Board Director has been allocated ministries based upon their area of expertise and sometimes geographic location.
The key responsibilities of the Board Liaison include:
- Meet on an agreed basis with the ministry Board Chair and CEO/Principal to discuss the ministry’s Half Year/Quarterly Reports.
- Review the ministry’s Board meeting minutes to ensure good stewardship of the ministry.
- Chair the ministry’s Annual General Meeting.
- Attend key ministry events throughout the year.
- Report back to the Mercy Partners Board on the ministry’s achievements, challenges and key updates.
Mercy Partners will provide detailed information on the expanded Board Liaison role at their annual catch up with the ministry Board Chairs’ Gathering scheduled for 19 March 2025.
To ensure the effectiveness of the expanded Board Liaison roles, feedback will be sought from the ministries in early 2026 to ensure the role provides an effective and efficient conduit between Mercy Partners and the ministries.
