Governance in Action – January 2024

Welcoming the 12th Principal of St Rita’s College
25 January, Brisbane

On Thursday, 25 January 2024, St Rita’s College gathered for the Induction Liturgy of their new College Principal, Maree Trims, the 12th Principal of the College. The gathering was an opportunity to bless and commission Maree’s leadership and service towards St Rita’s College.

As Maree begins her journey as Principal she stands on the shoulders of those who came before her stepping up and into a legacy of College leadership that spans nearly a century.

With a commitment to preserving the mission and vision of the Presentation Sisters and honouring past Principal’s whose contributions to the College have transformed St Rita’s into a dynamic educational environment, Maree pledged to carry the lantern and embrace opportunities to ensure our traditions and values continue to support students who are increasingly independent, discerning, creative and resilient for generations to come.

Mercy Partners Deputy Chair, Kieran McCarthy, Board Director, Cheryl Caughley and Director of Formation, Caroline Thompson, attended the Induction Liturgy and welcomed Maree as the new Principal.
