Mount Alvernia College’ Founders Day Assembly
29 January 2026, Brisbane
In honour of Mount Alvernia College’s 70th anniversary, the College community came together in a spirit of gratitude and celebration. This milestone provided an opportunity to reflect on the College’s rich history, its growth and achievements over the decades, and the enduring values that have shaped generations of students.
It was a time to acknowledge the vision of the founders – Missionary Franciscan Sisters of the Immaculate Conception, the dedication of staff, and the vibrant contributions of students and families who have all played a part in the College’s remarkable journey.
Mercy Partners Board Liaison, Professor Lee‑Anne Perry, attended the Assembly and joined in the celebrations. Her connection to Mount Alvernia College is especially significant, having served as the first lay Principal from 1993 to 1998.
