Mater Hill Pilgrimage
7 November, Brisbane
On Thursday, 7 November, Mercy Partners Board Directors joined the Mater Board and management team on a walking pilgrimage of Mater Hill. The pilgrimage commenced with the Sisters of Mercy vision for caring for the Brisbane Community in 1893 when they purchased 10 acres of land in South Brisbane. By 1910, the Sisters had raised sufficient funds to build the Mater Misericordiae (Mother of Mercy) Private Hospital. From this beginning, the health mission of the Sisters expanded across Queensland.
