Mercy Partners acknowledge and pay respect to the traditional owners, the Yuggera, Turrbal, Jagera and Ugarapul People, recognising Elders past and present, on whose land we walk, work and live.

Our vision is to be a leader in dynamic and innovative Catholic education. The College’s Mercy mission will be enhanced by the pursuit of further educational excellence, inclusivity of our Australian social diversity and an identity of international-mindedness.
College Vision
Founded in 1875 by the Sisters of Mercy under the aegis of Mother Ignatius McQuoin, Monte has been educating and caring for young women for over 148 years and continues a tradition of excellence and innovation in Catholic education in the way of our founders, the Sisters of Mercy North Sydney.
Monte’s mission statement is expressed through the College motto: Religio Scientia Cultus – we are shaped and directed by what we believe, by what we know and by what we value. The Mercy values of respect for human dignity, option for the poor, justice and service to others, are central to school life.
These values guide our teaching and learning culture and inform our community immersion programs and social justice initiatives. We want our students to be challenged in every sphere of life.
Monte has a strong academic record; we were the first Catholic girls school in New South Wales to offer both the International Baccalaureate Middle Years and Diploma Programs.
Honouring the vision and progressive ideals of a Mercy education, our newly completed Scientia Terrace is an extraordinary addition to the Monte campus. A dedicated science, social innovation and enterprise hub, focused on physical engagement for all students, a rooftop sports court and social area, a circular landscaped courtyard, a tiered grass outdoor amphitheatre and additional green space. This affords our students a broad range of subjects and academic choice.
We believe that education should be a rich interweaving of knowledge, skills and spirituality with a focus on empowering and motivating our girls to use their gifts to better themselves and to benefit the world around them. We are committed to ensuring that our students are supported, nurtured and valued as individuals. The development of individual potential is very important to us and we encourage self-belief, resilience, versatility and independence. Through a wide choice of academic subjects and a diverse Co-curricular program, there are abundant opportunities to shine.
Monte Sant’ Angelo Mercy College was entrusted to the care of Mercy Partners by the Sisters of Mercy North Sydney on 7 November 2023.
