Vision Statement excerpt

Holy Cross Services is a profit for purpose commercial service organisation providing integrated and inclusive employment and training opportunities through the provision of high-quality laundry, cleaning and food services.

We are focused on creating a safe and unique work environment that empowers people of all abilities to succeed and pride ourselves on being an Equal Opportunity Employer. We employ people with a disability and those who are disadvantaged in the community and with more than 350 employees, we work to ensure all our people feel valued and trained to do their job with confidence.

Holy Cross Laundry at Wooloowin was established by Mother Mary Vincent Whitty with a Mission to support disadvantaged people in the community gain meaningful employment and today, is one of the oldest working commercial laundries in Australia. Following relocation to a new, purpose-built laundry site at Banyo in 2014, Holy Cross has achieved a number of significant milestones including the launch of Holy Cross Cleaning in 2018 and Holy Cross Food Services in 2020.

In 2019, Holy Cross Laundry Ltd was renamed Holy Cross Services Ltd to better reflect the diversification and growth of our business and in March 2021 became a ministry sponsored directly by Mercy Partners.

Inspired by the charism of the Sisters of Mercy, Holy Cross Services will continue to grow and sustainably fulfil its Mission by restoring the dignity to those who are often locked out of employment due to disability and difference by helping them gain meaningful employment.

Holy Cross Services transferred canonical governance from Mater Misericordiae Ltd to Mercy Partners on 1 March 2021.
