2024 Education Leaders Gathering

On 10 April 2024, Mercy Partners held an Education Leaders Gathering at All Hallows’ School in Brisbane.  The gathering was facilitated by the Chair of the Mercy Partners Education Collaboration Committee, Prof Lee Anne Perry, and was supported by fellow Committee members, Kieran McCarthy and Steven Rubic.

The gathering was an opportunity to connect, collaborate and build relationships with the Chairs and Principals of each of the education ministries.  The purpose of the day was to discuss common themes and challenges experienced across the colleges and to also identify collaboration and sharing opportunities.

The gathering program was developed by Lee Anne in conjunction with suggested topics from the ministries.  Keynote speakers for the gathering were Mr Steven Jeffrey, Chief Financial Officer from Queensland Catholic Education Commission who spoke on Financial and Data Analysis.  The second speaker was Mr Vince Wall, AI for Teaching and Learning Project Leader from All Hallows’ School who spoke about using artificial intelligence in schools.  Additional subjects discussed at the gathering were Foundations, Fundraising and other Philanthropic Giving, National School Policy – Implications for RI/MPJP schools along with emergent issues being experienced by the education ministries.

Mercy Partners thanks the Education ministries’ Chairs and Principals for attending the gathering and for their positive feedback on the event.  Mercy Partners is now looking at opportunities to continue to connect and support our education ministries now and into the future.

One of the outcomes of the Education Leaders Gathering is that the Business Managers from each of the schools will gather online to discuss benchmarking and federal funding issues, along with the possible sharing of practice and resources across the education ministries.
