Welcome and Thank You for Your Service
Since our last newsletter, Mercy Partners has had some changes to our Steward Representatives and also within our Ministries.
Mercy Partners is delighted to welcome Sr Margaret Jones rsm who has been appointed as the new Steward Representative for the Sisters of Mercy Parramatta and replaces Sr Mary-Louise Petro rsm. We thank Sr Mary-Louise for her service to Mercy Partners.
Over the last three months we have said some farewells on our Ministry Boards and also welcomed some new faces.
Holy Cross Services
• We welcome Wendy Tancred who has been permanently appointed as the new Chief Executive Officer of Holy Cross Services.
Mater Misericordiae
• We acknowledge and thank Jane Yacopetti for undertaking over four years of service on the Mater Misericordiae Board.
Mercy Community
• Mercy Community recently said good to Lesley Schneider – Rockhampton Director Aged Care Strategic Projects along with Michelle Yanner – Director of Nursing at Townsville’s Loreto Nursing Home.
Mount Alvernia College
• Our thanks and appreciation go to Therese Miller, who has concluded her tenure as the Board Chair of Mount Alvernia College and we in turn welcome Kate Eggar who will replace Therese as the new College Chair.
• Mount Alvernia College Board has also undergone some changes – they have recently welcomed Gerard Ryan as the new Deputy Chair and three new Directors – Katie Lyndon, Jaimee O’Brien and Dominee Rye.
St Rita’s College
• It was also announced that St Rita’s College Principal, Dale Morrow, will step down after 22 years of service and Maree Trims has been appointed as the new Principal for St Rita’s College commencing in 2024.
St Patrick’s College
• We acknowledge and thank Zak Plumridge for his service as St Patrick’s Director of Business Operations.
• We welcome Prue Meier who is stepping into the shoes of Zak Plumridge as the new Director of Business Operations for St Patrick’s College.
St Ursula’s College
• The Chair of St Ursula’s College, Justin Power has stepped down from the College Board where he has served for the last year seven years. Ann Marie Pawsey has been appointed as the new Chair.
On a special note, we acknowledge that on 7 August it was Aged Care Employee Day – a special day to say ‘thanks for caring’ to the dedicated and compassionate staff working in the aged care community. Thank you to the staff for your incredible commitment and passion in supporting the residents trusted to the care of Mercy Community.
Finally, it has recently been announced that Dale Morrow from St Rita’s College, along with Amanda Bopf, Claire Hatchman and Pasang Tenzing from Mount Alvernia College has made the 2023 QCT TEACHX Awards shortlist. The shortlist is made up of 17 Queensland Catholic school staff who have been recognised for their outstanding efforts as teachers and leaders. Congratulations Dale, Amanda, Claire and Pasang on this achievement and we hope that one of you will take out the award at the 2023 TEACHX Awards on 5 October. In addition, Jane Martens from Mount Alvernia College has recently been awarded the 2023 Emerging Education Leadership Award by ACELQ (Australian Council of Educational Leadership Queensland). Congratulations Jane!
