14-16th June: Mercy Mission Formation Network (MMFN)

The Mercy Mission Formation Network met in June for the first time since COVID. It was great to meet up with Mercy Mission people from across Australia and New Zealand. There was a wonderful sense of community and connection amongst the attendees. The conference focused on the Mercy Partner’s Publication ‘Be as Shining lamps’ with presenters focusing on practical ways of enhancing mercy charism and identity. Sisters Berneice Lock and Denise Fox gave an update on developments in the International Mercy world while Jemima Welsh gave details of Young Mercy initiatives.
20th-21st June: Mission Leaders Formation Program
Mater, Brisbane QLD
On 20th and 21st June, Mercy Partners Director of Formation attended the inaugural Mission Leaders Formation Program at the Mater. Mission leaders and aspiring mission leaders from across Queensland attended the three-day program facilitated by Susan Sullivan. Caroline led sessions on mission and Catholic identity as the basis of formation and pastoral care programs in health and aged care ministries.
30th June: Staff Reflection on Catherine McAuley
McAuley College, Clarenza NSW
On Friday 30th June Mercy Partners Director of Formation facilitated a staff reflection day on Catherine McAuley and the charism of Mercy at McAuley College Grafton. Over 50 staff attended the event and Sisters of Mercy Colleen Brady and Jenny Hartley were guest speakers on the occasion. The Sisters of Mercy arrived in Grafton in 1884 working in education and the Cowper Children’s Home.
